Terms and conditions
These terms govern your use of researchbench.co.uk and any services you order from us. They are written to be readable; where something matters we have said so plainly rather than burying it.
ResearchBench provides statistical analysis, qualitative coding, software training and methodological review on a fixed-price basis, quoted in writing before work begins. Payment is online for individuals or by invoice with 30-day terms for organisations. Clients own the deliverables; reasonable revisions are included; Scots law applies.

Who you are contracting with
ResearchBench is a trading name of Splash Solutions Ltd, a company registered in Scotland, company number SC851065, registered at 119 Whitefield Road, Glasgow G51 2SD. All contracts are with the limited company.

Our services
We provide statistical analysis, qualitative coding, research-methods support, software training and related consultancy, together with free online tools. Paid services are agreed on a fixed-price basis and delivered by email.

What is included
Revisions
Each deliverable includes reasonable revisions to clarify or correct the work delivered against the agreed scope. A substantial change of scope — new variables, a different research question, reanalysis on revised data — is quoted separately and only carried out once you agree it.

Who owns what
Intellectual property
On payment in full, you own the deliverables — the analysis, report, tables, code and any documentation produced for your project. You may publish, submit and reuse them without further permission or attribution.
We retain ownership of our own pre-existing methods, templates, training materials and the free tools on this site. We may describe the work in anonymised form as a case study only where the client cannot be identified, and never without removing identifying detail.

Confidentiality
We treat your data, documents and the existence of your project as confidential. Access is limited to the statistician assigned. We will sign your NDA, data processing agreement or information governance schedule before you transfer anything — see our privacy policy for how data is stored and deleted.
Limits
Liability
We provide our services with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for decisions you take on the basis of an analysis, for the outcome of an assessment, publication, funding application or business decision, or for losses that were not foreseeable.
Our total liability in connection with any project is limited to the fees paid for that project. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending a project
Cancellation
You may cancel before work begins at no cost. Once work has started, you are liable for the proportion completed. Where we cannot deliver what was agreed, our refund policy applies.
Jurisdiction
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections available to you under the law of your own country of residence.
Ask before you commit rather than afterwards. Email us and a person will answer — we would rather explain a term than argue about it later.

Answers before you ask
Do I own the analysis you produce?
Yes, on payment in full. The analysis, report, tables and code are yours to publish, submit and reuse without further permission or attribution.
Will you use my project as a case study?
Only in anonymised form, with the client unnamed and all identifying detail removed. If you would rather we did not, say so and we will not.
Do you charge VAT?
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and, where VAT applies, it is shown on the quote and invoice before you commit.
What if I cancel after work has started?
You are liable for the proportion completed. If we have not started, there is nothing to pay.
Which law applies?
Scots law, with the Scottish courts having jurisdiction. Consumer protections in your own country of residence are unaffected.
