About ResearchBench

Most research does not fail at the point of analysis. It fails earlier — a question that was never made testable, a design that cannot answer it, a dataset collected before anyone asked what would be done with it. By the time a statistician is involved, the expensive decisions have usually already been made.

ResearchBench exists to make that expertise available earlier and more cheaply than the alternatives. A permanent analyst is unaffordable for intermittent work. A large consultancy bills hourly against a scope that expands. A doctoral researcher usually has neither option and falls back on a supervisor who is not a statistician.

So we publish our prices, quote a fixed figure before starting, name the statistician who will do the work, and deliver everything by email so there is a written record of what was asked and what was produced.

Roughly half our work is for organisations — charities, universities, NHS teams, local authorities and businesses — and half for individual researchers, mostly doctoral and master’s students working on their own data.

For organisations we work on invoice against purchase orders with standard 30-day terms, complete supplier onboarding and procurement forms, and sign data processing agreements before any data is transferred. For individual researchers we work at fixed prices from £95, payable online, with no account required.
