Every price on this page is fixed and agreed before work begins. Where a price genuinely depends on the state of your data we say so and assess it free of charge, rather than publishing a figure we would have to revise.
ResearchBench publishes fixed prices: from £95 for a focused piece of analysis, £180 for a power analysis and sample size calculation, £95 for an academic CV review, and from £950 for organisational consultancy. Prices are agreed in a written quote before any work begins and do not change unless the scope changes.

Honesty about scope
Why some prices are quoted rather than listed
A focused analysis on a clean dataset is a predictable piece of work, so it carries a published price. Data cleaning is not: a well-structured export with a few missing values and twelve years of inconsistent manual entry across three systems are different jobs by an order of magnitude.
Publishing a single figure for that work would mean either overcharging most clients or discovering the true scope halfway through and asking for more. So we look at the file first, quote a fixed figure, and charge nothing for the assessment.
The assessment exists to price the work accurately, not to justify a number decided in advance.
The market
How we compare
We checked the five UK providers that rank for statistical consultancy and dissertation statistics before writing this page. None of them publishes a price. One has a “Prices” page with no figures on it; another has an entire “Costs and Contracts” FAQ section containing no amounts at all, offering a free consultation instead.
That is a legitimate way to sell consultancy, and for genuinely bespoke work it is often the only honest one. But it means you cannot find out what anything costs without entering a sales conversation, and for a researcher with a £200 budget and a deadline that is a poor use of everyone’s time.

Answers before you ask
Is the quoted price really fixed?
Yes. It does not change unless you change the scope — and if you do, the change is quoted before any work is done on it. If the job turns out to be smaller than the assessment suggested, the price goes down.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes, data assessments and scoping conversations are free, and there is no obligation once you have one.
Why is data cleaning not a fixed price?
Because the work depends entirely on the state of the file, which we cannot know until we look. We assess it free and then quote a fixed figure, rather than publishing a number we would have to revise.
Do you offer student discounts?
Our published prices are already set for individual researchers rather than institutional budgets. The £95 starting price is the discount.
Can you invoice my university or employer?
Yes. We invoice against purchase orders with 30-day terms, and complete supplier onboarding or procurement documentation as part of scoping.
What if I am not happy with the work?
Reasonable revisions are included in every deliverable and resolve most concerns. Where we have failed to deliver what was agreed and cannot put it right, we refund in full or in fair proportion — see our refund policy.
